Vorträge, Austausch und mehr
18. November 2025 15:30 - 17:00
JKU Campus, Raum "LC Schulung",
Altenbergerstrasse 69, 4040Linz

An event within the 3rd Linz University Weeks: Global ConnAct 2025.

The guest lecture focuses on areas of action for civil society. We discuss spheres of influence for civil society, how they are developing and what is needed to counteract shrinking spaces of civil society.

We talk about the project „Ecoality – Youth and Local Authorities together for climate and gender justice“ (link: www.seudwind.at/ecoality) as an example for ongoing project work of an NGO. Opportunities and challenges of civil society engagement are discussed.

As Südwind and as such also in the lecture we try to ask the right questions:

What do power relations have to do with global justice? Who should take responsibility to shape a socio-ecological transformation? What power do hope and visions have to create a just transition towards a liveable future for all?

The lecture is an invitation to take on new perspectives, to reflect on roles of various actors in sustainability transitions (including one’s own role), to ask critical questions and discuss options for action.

Lisa Aigelsperger is head of the human rights-based NGO Südwind Upper Austria and a climate activist (active with Scientists for Future, among others). Her thematic focus is on climate justice and social movements.
